My experience in Asia spans more than three decades of living, working, and building businesses throughout Thailand, Malaysia, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Southeast Asian region.
After beginning my international career with Sun Electric Corporation, I relocated to Asia where I later served as Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Executive Director of a Malaysia-based financial holding company with operations in both Malaysia and Thailand. During that time, I managed multiple companies and strategic joint ventures involving major organizations in the automotive, technology, insurance, and financial services sectors.
Our companies expanded internationally by representing U.S. manufacturers throughout Asia, including China. I participated in the first international trade exhibition held in Shanghai and worked directly with Chinese businesses and government officials during a period of rapid economic transformation.
These experiences provided a unique perspective on China's rise as a global economic power and sparked a long-standing interest in the strategies, policies, and influence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). My continuing research into China and the CCP is rooted not in academic theory alone, but in firsthand business and personal experiences developed over decades of engagement throughout the region.
Throughout my career, I cultivated strategic partnerships, navigated complex regulatory environments, and managed relationships with government agencies, multinational corporations, and business leaders across Asia. My expertise is built on years of immersive living and direct involvement in the region rather than occasional visits.
Today, I bring that same real-world experience to RetireWise Thailand, providing independent research, intelligence reports, and practical guidance for expats, retirees, investors, and families considering a move to Thailand. My perspective is shaped by decades of firsthand experience living, working, investing, and conducting business throughout Southeast Asia.
